Essie Jones

Essie Jones passed away on April 26, 2024. She was born on July 9, 1944, to the late Albert and Gladys Traylor of Woodland, Alabama. Essie's favorite thing to do was to watch wrestling and she loved each match. Her spicy and fiery personality led her on many adventures in life. Even going to the grocery store could be an adventure if you were with Essie. She seized life every single day and not a moment was wasted. Whether she was going to the beach on a gambling trip or scooting through fabulous Las Vegas, each trip was one for the memory books. She had a spice for life and never took anything too seriously. You could find her laughing all the time and sometimes even when she shouldn't have been. Her family was truly her world, and she was their sweet angel. Essie was incredibly loved, and she will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Alfred Hugh Traylor and Gladys Geneva Traylor, she is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Roger Randall Buchanan; her second husband, William Jones; and her brothers, Robert Traylor and Ray Traylor.

She is survived by her two sons, Scott Buchanan and Randall Buchanan; daughter-in-law, Casaundra; grandchildren, Nicole Buchanan, Nicholas Buchanan, Amber Buchanan; great-grandchildren, Braven Morris, Chevy Underwood; one sister, Geneva Bounds; and long-time companion, Kenneth Rehfeldt.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Clark Funeral Home and Chapel on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Essie will be on Monday, April 29, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM at Clark Funeral Home and Chapel with Pastor Robbie Entrekin officiating.

Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens.
