Eva Bee Newman

Eva Bee Newman, age 95, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice. Mrs. Newman was born on October 8, 1924 in Hiram, GA, to her late parents; Herschel and Katie Hendrick. Eva was a homemaker and a faithful member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Newman was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Eugene “Gene” Newman, and sisters; Evelyn Shipp, Vermell Thomas, and Ruth Richards.

Survivors include her loving daughters; Ann and Doug Hicks of Douglasville, GA, Barbara Driskell of Arnoldsville, GA, Janice Williams of Douglasville, GA, brother, James Hendrick of Callahan, FL, Sister, Bobbie Lee of Dallas, GA, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Newman will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at The Clark Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Elly Tilk officiating. Interment will follow the service at Bethel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for visitation on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
