Evelyn Stamey McFarland, age 88 of Buchanan, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. She was born on December 1, 1928, in Roanoke, VA, to the late George Mason & Annie Belle Hogan, and was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Forrest Stamey, and second husband, Lear Adam McFarland. Mrs. McFarland retired from Bellsouth with over 20 years of service as a TSPS operator. After retirement from Bellsouth she worked at Sweetwater Park and Recreation, where she also retired, and was the past president of Parents without Partners.
Survivors include her children, Paul Stamey of Dallas, GA, Robert & Annette Stamey of Fayetteville, GA and Deborah & Michael Ruark of Buchanan, GA; brother, George Mason & Linda Hogan, JR of Portsmouth, VA; sisters, Virginia Hudson of Portsmouth, VA, and Cynthia Lopez of Portsmouth, VA; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 3 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Earl Wigley officiating. Interment will follow in Mozley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 14, 2017, from 1 PM until the time of service.
