Everett E. “Dicky” Johns, age 83, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. He was born on August 20, 1931, in Hiram, GA, to the late James Nicholas and Mary V. Johns, and was preceded in death by his sisters, Myrtle Harper, Reba Johns, and Eva Mae Corley, brother, Ester Lee Johns, and grandchild, Vince Conkell. Mr. Johns was a United States Marine Veteran, and worked as a butcher for many years at Ben Hill Strickland Store. He was of Baptist faith and loved to work on lawn mowers and tillers.
Survivors include wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Cindy Johns of Hiram, GA; step-daughter, Elaine Sysun of Hiram, GA; brother, James C. “Tunny” Johns of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Eric Sysun and Charisma Sysun; great-grandchildren, Vincent Conkell and Britney Brown; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11 AM, from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Don Rackley officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 20, 2015, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
