Floyd Harris, age 84, of Dallas, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012. He was born on February 16, 1928, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to the late, Douglas & Georgia Harris. Mr. Harris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dallas and was very active in the church, especially missionary work with the church. He was a member of the Catawba Indian Nation, enjoyed football, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed camping with his family. Mr. Harris was a United States Army Veteran and retired from Lockheed as a machinist.
Survivors include, wife of 44 years, Mae Harris of Dallas; sons and daughters-in-law, Dean & Vicky Harris of Wellford, SC, William & Jayne Harris of McConnells, SC, Curtis Douglas Harris of Chester, SC, and Charlie & Donna Bruce of Calhoun, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Leah & Murray Manning of Dallas, Janet & Michael Hall of White, GA, and Deloria Harris of Chester, SC; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012, at 2 p.m., from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Bishop Paul Farley officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, from Catawba Ward Church Cemetery in Rock Hill, SC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
