Frances Summers Curtis, age 81, of Hiram, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013. She was born, February 20, 1932, the daughter of the late, James H. Summers, Sr. & the late, Beulah Cox Summers and was also preceded in death by her husband, Leon Curtis, son, Steven Leon Curtis and brother, James Henry Summers, Jr. Mrs. Curtis was a retired accountant with Lawrence, See & Beavers and also a former clerk for the City of Hiram. She loved reading, gardening, crafts and traveling, and was a big Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan. Mrs. Curtis was a member of Cochran Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons & daughter-in-law, Jim & Gloria Curtis of Winston, GA and Mike Curtis & Debbie Portwood of Hiram, GA; brother & sister-in-law, Sam & Lanora Summers; sisters & brother-in-law, Ruth Gregory of Alabama, Bea & Eddie Mabius of Panama City Beach, FL, and Mae Harris of Hiram, GA; grandchildren, Maria Curtis & husband, Kemal Namver, Jessica Jenkins & husband, Phillip, Clayton Curtis, Nick Curtis, Lyric Curtis Portwood & husband, Joseph, Laurin Curtis and Jared Curtis; great-grandchildren, Kaden Amos, Safiye Namver, Zack Coleman, Seher Namver and Kason Portwood; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 5, 2013, at 11:00 AM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Dr. Rick Eaves officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
