Franklin Aldine Hardy, age 93, of Lithia Springs, formerly of Powder Springs and Thomaston, Georgia, passed away on August 16, 2024. He was born on August 18, 1930, in Thomaston, Georgia, the son of the late Howard D. Hardy and the late Jessie Lee Rodgers Hardy. Aldine was a dedicated patriot who proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He will be fondly remembered for his strong work ethic and generous spirit. Aldine's life was one filled with a passion for hard work and a deep love for his family and community.
After retiring from Coats & Clark thread mill and working for the National Envelope company, Aldine found joy in various activities, including cutting grass, farming, and helping out his neighbors. His willingness to lend a helping hand and his easygoing nature endeared him to all who knew him. Aldine's love for his family was evident in his frequent visits back home to Thomaston, where he would care for the family homestead and spend quality time with loved ones.
Aldine's legacy of hard work, kindness, and love for his family will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will always be remembered for his dedication to his country, community, and loved ones. May his memory be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Aldine was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Nina Ellerbee Hardy and a host of other relatives.
Aldine is survived by his sons, David (Michele) Hardy and Mark (Penni) Hardy; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
A Graveside Service to honor Aldine 's life will take place at 11:30 am at Hendrick's Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomaston, Georgia on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
Interment will follow in Hendrick's Cemetery with the United States Army Honor Guard providing military funeral honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hendrick's Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2233 Hendricks Church Rd, Thomaston, GA 30286.
