Frederick Ernest Braue

January 24, 1946 — February 18, 2023

Frederick (Fred) Braue, Sr. (1946-2023), passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023, surrounded by his family. Originally from the Bronx, New York, Fred made his home in North Caldwell, New Jersey, where he raised his three children with his wife, Carol (nee Lynn).

His passion for trains was apparent to all who knew him. He loved refurbishing Lionel trains and serviced many throughout the train community. Fred's other interests included driving his convertible Mustang with his most loyal companion, his Labrador Retriever, Natasha (Tasha), boating at his house in Long Beach Island, and flying remote planes, to name a few. Fred had an incredible work ethic. He worked in facility management for over 40 years, putting to use his many certifications from the Dept. of Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Labor, and various water environmental associations.

Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Louise Lynn Braue.

He is survived by his eldest son Fred (Beth) Braue, Jr.; daughter Cheryl (Bill) Thomas; and youngest son Brant (Joyce) Braue; his granddaughters Deven (Logan) McMurray, Ashleigh Prutz, Alexandra Lynn Braue, Vanessa Balsor, Mary Nee Balsor (Tyler) Hayden; his grandson, Dale Balsor; and his two great-grandchildren, Rylan Braue and Westyn McMurray.

A private burial will take place Wednesday, February 22, at 2:00 p.m. at Sweetwater Memorial Park.
