Gary Dwayne Morris, age 66, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. He was born on May 12, 1948, in Rockmart, GA, and was preceded in death by his father, J.B. Morris. Mr. Morris was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War, retired from GA Power Company as a P& M coordinator, and was a member and trustee of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Gary’s favorite pastime was spending time at the beach with his family. He was an inspiration to his family, friends and everyone he met.
Survivors include wife of 44 years, Brenda Morris of Dallas, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Wendi & Shane Graves of Acworth, GA, and Amy & Jason Lanham of Acworth, GA; mother, Mary Morris Bagley of Dallas, GA; brother, Mike Morris; mother-in-law, Margaret Crane of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Ben Graves, Garrett Lanham and Maggie Graves; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 3 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Brian Carroll and Pastor Jeremy Crane officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. Emory Duke, Ronnie Lee, Tony Baird, George Crider, Neil Carroll, Eli Sorrells and Daniel Cole will serve as pallbearers. Clifford Barfield, James Austin, Ed McBride, Adam Gurley and John Watkins will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 13, 2015, from 4 PM until 8 PM.
