George Delmar Cook

February 8, 1932 — July 5, 2021

George “Delmar” Cook, age 89 of Dallas, GA passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 peacefully at his residence. He was born on February 8, 1932 in Banning, Ga to his parents, Melvin and Vassie Mae Cook. Mr. Cook served in the Korean War during his time with the Air Force. He is known by his family as being a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was also proud of his town and its people. Delmar was a member of Pumpkinvine Baptist Church and worked at Lockheed Martin for more than 33 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Rucia Cook; sister, Flora Jo Bailey; brothers, Norman Cook and Leonard Cook.

Delmar is survived by his children, Dennis Cook, Denise (Darrell) Morris, Diane (Lane) Camp, and Dinah (Ben Jr.) Monk; grandchildren, Misty, Amy, Ryan, Rachel, Benjamin, Logan, Georgia, and Dawson; great-grandchildren, Alayna, Austin, Abigail, and Alyssa; along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Cook will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM with interment to follow at Dallas Memory Gardens with the following as pallbearers, Dennis, Ryan, Benjamin, Dawson, Justin, Ben; and honorary pallbearers, Lane, Wendell, Logan, Poochie, Smokey, and Roy. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Helping Hands of Paulding County.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who may be unable to attend the service in person due to Covid-19 concerns.
