George “Ralph” Vickrey, age 80, of Powder Springs, passed away on Saturday, January 01, 2011. He was born on June 10, 1930, in Atmore, AL, to the late George and Vera Vickrey, and was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Elton Vickrey. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and was a Master Crew Chief for the United States Air Force for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Myrna Vickrey of Powder Springs; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Eugene Vickrey of Dallas, George Edward & Andrea Vickrey of Dallas, Steven Alan & Elizabeth Vickrey of Dallas, Timothy Earl & Kimberley Vickrey of Dallas, and Matthew Elliott Vickrey of Dallas; sisters, Dorothy Hardy of Atmore, AL, Peggy Muck of Robertsdale, AL, and Barbara Castro of Pensacola, Fl; thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at 10 a.m., from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Lamar Rackley officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. with full Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 3, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
