Gerald Jackson Maddox, a loving husband, father, and brother passed away on August 11, 2024. He was born on October 2, 1955, in Leesburg, Florida, to Thomas Vaughn Maddox Sr. and Nora Mae Maddox.
Gerald enjoyed a fulfilling career as a Roadway Permit Inspector with Cobb County Government for 16 years before retiring. He took pride in his work, ensuring safety and enjoyed serving his community. When he wasn't on the job, you could find him tending to his garden or casting his fishing line, which he truly loved to do. Gerald was also a dedicated NASCAR fan and enjoyed every race.
His greatest joy, however, came from his family. Gerald was deeply devoted to his beloved wife, Dorothy, and cherished their life together. He was a proud father, finding immense happiness in the love and laughter shared with his three children.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Vaughn Maddox Sr. and Nora Mae Maddox.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Dorothy Maddox; their three children, Andrew (Jeannine) Maddox, Katie Maddox, and Derek Maddox; his sisters, Lillie Barber, Martha Maddox, Cindy Taylor; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
