Geraldine "Jerri" Turner Carruth, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. The youngest of five, she was born on July 14, 1929, in Hiram,Georgia to parents George Robert Turner and Ollie Eleanor Summerhill Turner. A devoted member of the Paulding community, Jerri's life was marked by her career in Human Resources, spending many fulfilling years at Greystone Power. She was a 1946 graduate of Hiram High School and was the class Valedictorian.
After retiring, Jerri remained actively engaged in her community, contributing her time to the Chamber of Commerce and Dallas First United Methodist Church. Her dedication to service reflected her caring and compassionate spirit, which she extended to her family, friends, and neighbors.
Jerri is survived by her cherished son Bill Carruth and daughter-in-law Laura, as well as her beloved granddaughters Kristen Thompson (Payne), Kate Dalton (Stuart), and Karoline Carruth. Her legacy continues with her great-grandchildren Will Thompson, Jack Thompson, Attie Thompson, Thomas Dalton, and Lillian Dalton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, William Alton (Al) Carruth, Sr. and her siblings Malcolm Turner, Cyril Turner, Rhual Turner and Lorraine Cochran.
A longtime Dallas First United Methodist Church member, Jerri found joy in her faith and community. Known for her warm personality, intelligence, and zest for life, she enjoyed painting and traveling with her family, creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on December 26, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Dallas First United Methodist Church, with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Jerri's life and legacy during these services. Following the funeral, she will be laid to rest in Dallas Memory Gardens beside her beloved husband Al Carruth. Those serving as pallbearers are: Stuart Dalton, Payne Thompson, Wayne Black, Ashley Henson, Boyd Monk, and Jarrett Turner.
In the hearts of her loved ones, Jerri will remain forever sweet, and inspiring. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
