It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gloria Carolyn Clark Hood Lanseros, who left this world peacefully at the age of 86, surrounded by family. She was born on August 12, 1938, in Villa Rica, Georgia to the late Richard Douglas Clark and the late Georgia Goldin Clark. Gloria spent much of her childhood in Cedartown, Ga., and graduated from Terrell County High School, class of 1956, in Dawson, Ga. Gloria's journey through education was marked by dedication and passion. She earned her Associate's Degree in Education from Andrew College, beginning her career as a teacher, where she inspired many young minds throughout her years of service, including teaching 8th grade math and substitute teaching.
In pursuit of a new chapter, Gloria returned to school and graduated from the nursing program at Georgia State University, embarking on a profound and impactful 37-year career as a Registered Nurse. She began her nursing journey in the Emergency Room at Grady Memorial Hospital in 1978, later serving as a surgical nurse. Gloria dedicated her final years to nursing at North Fulton Hospital, where she continued to provide compassionate care until her retirement at the age of 77.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Gloria had a vibrant personality deeply influenced by her passions. Gloria and her husband Paul immensely enjoyed ballroom dancing for many years. She delighted in tending to her flower gardens, where her nurturing spirit flourished. She also found great joy in collecting fine jewelry and Coach handbags.
Gloria's life was a tapestry woven with love, strength, and joy. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren and was particularly proud of being a great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was also preceded in death by her siblings, Sara Clark Starling and Frank Edward Clark.
