Grover Hilliard

Grover Hilliard, age 83, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014. He was born on March 12, 1931, in Dallas, GA, to the late Robert and Pearl Hilliard, and was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Hilliard; brothers, Orlando Hilliard and Dave Hilliard; and sister, Sarah Earwood. Mr. Hilliard was a United States Army Veteran serving his country in the Korean War, retired as Lieutenant from the Dallas Police Department after serving 23 years, and worked in the Warrant Division at Paulding County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Hilliard was the Pastor of Mountain View Church of God.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Sarah Hilliard of Acworth, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Joy & Richard Shaffer of Dallas, GA, and Rebecca & Scott Halter of Dallas, GA; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at 2 p.m., from Clark
Funeral Home, with Reverend Kenny Jacobs officiating. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Steve Hilliard, Richard Shaffer, Scott Halter, Shane Corley, Earl Hill, and Donnie Ruff will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m.
