Harley Donald Shelnutt

July 25, 1930 — April 19, 2020

Harley Donald Shelnutt, age 89, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital. He was born on July 25, 1930 in Mountain View, GA, to his late parents; Maxwell and Thelma Shelnutt. Harley worked as a salesman for Gulf Oil for 25 years and later was a truck driver for Cobb County Board of Education. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Shelnutt was a faithful member or New Georgia Baptist Church for many years. Harley was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Clara Coggin.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Pauline Jordan Shelnutt of Dallas, GA, sons; Steve Shelnutt of Dallas, GA, Randy Shelnutt and his wife, Cathy of Villa Rica, GA, sister, Wilma Moore of Douglasville, GA, grandchildren; Joseph Lee Shelnutt (Kelly), Randy Shelnutt Jr. ( Stephanie) Benjamin Lyle Shelnutt (Elisa), Jessica Ladin (Steven), Heather Wilson, great grandchildren; Abigail Hendrix, Torin Shelnutt, Winter Shelnutt, Antonio Shelnutt, Evaleigh Shelnutt, Sawyer Ladin, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

A private graveside service for Mr. Harley Shelnutt will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Melrose Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Keith Stell officiating. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to Covid-19 restrictions.
