Harriet and Hoyt Ruff

Harriet Henderson Ruff, aged 76, of Dallas, GA, passed away on November 22, 2023 and her
husband Hoyt Ruff, aged 88, of Dallas, GA, passed away on December 23, 2023.

Harriet was the first born child of Margaret and John Henry Henderson, making her arrival on
February 28, 1947. She was a lifelong resident of Dallas, Ga. She attended Dallas Elementary and
Dallas high school, class of 1965. She then attended West Georgia College and completed an
advanced degree in education. She spent her entire career in education starting as a fifth grade
teacher and eventually becoming the Director of Curriculum for the Paulding County Board of
Education.

Hoyt was the third child of Horace and Isabel Ruff. He attended Dallas high school, class of 1953. He
began a lifelong career with Lockheed Martin located in Marietta Georgia.

In 1968, Harriet and Hoyt married and she became the mother of three sons: Wesley, Mitchell and
Joey. A few years later she and Hoyt welcomed another son, Philip.

Harriet was a lifelong member of her home church, First Baptist of Dallas where she served in many
areas. She loved music and often helped out in that area of ministry as well.

The family would like to invite you to join us for a celebration of their lives. A graveside service will be
held on February 17, 2024, 11:00 AM at Dallas Memory Gardens, 444 Confederate Avenue, followed by
a Memorial Celebration to be held at Dallas First Baptist Church, 401 Main Street @ 1:00 pm. Light
refreshments will be served in fellowship hall.
