Dale Shipp, 79, passed away on June 1, 2023 at his home.
Dale was born on May 6, 1944 to the late Hugh Dorsey and Evelyn Shipp.
Dale was proud to be a volunteer firefighter and spent many years working for Ford. He loved the many, many years coaching and being an umpire at Ridge Road Ball Field. If you lived within a 10 mile radius of Ridge Road Ball Field and played baseball or softball, you were probably coached by him. One of Dale's favorite things to do was hunt and fish, especially with his grandsons. If there was a Braves game on, Dale was watching it and if they were winning he was for sure happy. Dale was also a proud member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Dale was loved by so many, especially his family, and will be greatly missed by so many.
In addition to his parents, Hugh and Evelyn Shipp, Dale is preceded in death by his sister, Jane Shipp Brown.
Dale is lovingly survived by his two sons; Jeffery (J.D.) Shipp, Darrell (Jennifer) Shipp, daughter; Stephanie (John) Wetmore. He is also survived by his three grandsons; Justin Dale Shipp, Brenton Austin Shipp, Maddox Grayson Wetmore and his granddaughter; Alissa Shipp as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in Sunday, June 4, 2023. A service for Dale will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Strickland officiating. Dale will be laid to rest following the service at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Brenton Shipp, Justin Shipp, Nathen Ellis, Larry Austin, Doug Hicks, Jamie Wright, Eddie Keown, and Johnny Gober serving as pallbearers and Maddox Wetmore serving as an honorary pallbearer.
Clark Funeral Home is honored to care for the Shipp family during this difficult time.
