Hattie Elizabeth (Dodd) Pilcher

Hattie Elizabeth Dodd Pilcher, born April 21, 1935, passed away at the age of 84 on Friday, August 2, 2019, at her residence in Hiram, GA. She was a very strong woman who persevered, especially through caregiving and devotion to her husband of 47 years. As a mother, she instilled determination in her daughters to face challenges head-on. In her own words-- her greatest joy and accomplishment in this life was her family! She was preceded in death by her husband, Vertis Pilcher; parents, William and Susie Dodd and a grandchild, Anthony Butler.

She is survived by two daughters; Libby (Gary) Johnson of Hiram, GA and Angie Butler of Kannapolis, NC; five (5) grandchildren, Jamie Johnson of Hiram, GA, Cassie White of Salisbury, NC, Ethan Johnson of Douglasville, GA, Matthew Johnson of Dallas, GA , Weston Butler of Kannapolis, NC; eleven (11) great grandchildren; five (5) great-great-granchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cumming, GA with Rev. Johnny Hightower and Pastor Steve Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday evening between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
