Helen Shelnut

SHELNUT,
Helen L. Shelnut , age 75, of Powder Springs, GA, formly of Thorsby, Birmingham, Al., passed away September 24, 2011. She was born November 11, 1935, in Birmingham, AL, to the late Evan Morrison and Louise Reid Morrison and was preceded in death by her brother Frank Morrison and grandsons Josh and Noah Shelnut. Mrs. Shelnut was a homemaker and a member of Thorsby First Baptist Church. She loved her grandchildren her Braves and most of all her Alabama Crimson Tide football team.

Survived by her husband of 60 yrs, Oneal Shelnut, Powder Springs, GA, sons Danny and his wife Heather Shelnut, Cumming, GA, David and Karen Shelnut, NC., Darrell and Tammy Shelnut, Powder Springs, GA, daughters Donna and her husband Terry Lee, Albany, GA, Renee and her husband Terry Lacey, Dallas, GA, brother Curtis and his wife Peggy Morrison, Thorsby, AL, 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 2:45pm CST from Croft Acton Cemetery, with Rev. Wade Acton officiating. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home, Hiram, GA, from 5-8pm EST on Monday, September 26, 2011 and also on Tuesday at the graveside from 1pm – 2:30pm CST.
