Lee Martin

Herbert Lee "Papa" Martin, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born February 12, 1937, in Atlanta, GA, to the late Herbert Lee Martin, Sr. and the late Evelyn Genevieve Robinson Martin. Lee worked at Irvindale and later at Flav-o-rich Dairies as a milkman and shipping supervisor. Known for his hard work and unwavering commitment, he embraced the spirit of dedication.

Lee was more than just his job, though--he had a zest for life that touched everyone he met. A former football coach, he had a passion for the game and enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams. An avid racing fan, he found joy in the thrill of the race and loved to travel to experience new places. In quieter moments, he could often be found watching Jeopardy and flexing those trivia muscles, or diving into his fascination with Ancestry, uncovering the stories of his family's past. Lee was a member of Christ Freedom Church of Hiram for 20+years.

Lee is survived by his loving daughter, Robyn (Greg) Spence; and son, Joseph Lee Martin; along with a treasured brood of grandchildren: Lance Price, Jodi Price, Katie (Brian) Lary and Carissa Hendrix. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, including Cameron, Caden, Ryan, Evan, Micah, Mara, Mallory, Brentlee, Korbin and Jayci: and great-great-grandchildren, Krew and Rowan--each of whom brought him immense joy. He is also survived by a sister, Gwen Martin Rampley; a brother, Wayne Martin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Lee was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Frances Stover Martin; his parents, Herbert and Evelyn Martin; daughter, Susie Martin; and sister, Connie Martin.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A celebration of Lee's life will take place at the Sam Clark Chapel of Clark Funeral Home on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Peter Harris officiating.
