Herman Clyde Cole, age 99, of Dallas, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2009. A native of Paulding County, he was born March 18, 1909, and was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry “Bud” Cole & Annie Pearl Cole, and his wife, Lois Rebecca Cole. Mr. Cole was a cattle and dairy farmer. He served at the Paulding County voting polls for 21 years and was on the board of the Department of Family and Children’s Services for 38 years. Mr. Cole was a lifetime member of New Georgia Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his son, James Rodney Cole of Dallas; daughter & son-in-law, Helen & Lawrence House of Douglasville; sister, Ruth Allen of Carrollton; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at 11:00 am, from New Georgia Baptist Church, with Dr. James R. Burdette and Rev. Keith Stell officiating. Interment will follow in Melrose Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
