Howard Helms

Howard Frank Helms passed away on November 19, 2024, at his residence in Hiram, Georgia, at the age of 87. He was born on May 11, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio. Howard was a retired stone mason who took great pride in his craft. His dedication to his work and his creative spirit were reflected in the intricate details of the structures he built.

Throughout his life, Howard found joy in simple pleasures. He had a passion for model trains, building birdhouses, and creating tranquil koi ponds. His love for nature extended to his faithful companion, Peanut, his beloved dog who brought him comfort and companionship.

Howard is survived by his wife, Judith Helms, and his children, Jeanne Day and husband Robert, David Helms, Janet Evans and husband Cliff, daughter in law Anna Helms. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Nichole Cartrette and husband Joshua, Jacquelyn Cartrette, Jamie Rudik and husband Igor, Anthony Haney and wife Adria, Deanna Haney and husband Gary, Meagan Reger and husband Jay, Kristina Suppa and husband Jeremy, Derek Helms and wife Cassi, Stephanie Edwards and husband Mathew, Justin Day, Joshua Helms, Benjamin Helms; great-grandchildren Abigail Cooper, Jack Cooper, Lucas Cooper, Layla Reger, Tyler Edwards, Nathan Edwards, Allison Edwards, Jacob Edwards, William Coggins, Cooper Day and all those who knew him. Howard was preceded in death by his father Howard Helms; mother Rose Straka; sons Daniel Helms, Matthew Helms; sister Carol Folmer.

Funeral services for Howard Frank Helms will be held at the Sam Clark Chapel on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 6:00 pm. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at the Clark Funeral Home at 4:00 pm on the same day.
