Howell Elsberry

April 6, 1937 — December 15, 2024

Howell "Hal" Elsberry, passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on April 6, 1937, in Dallas, Georgia, to the late Benjamin and Lilly Anne Elsberry. Hal spent his life deeply rooted in his community, where he will be remembered for his unwavering faith, love for family, and passion for the great outdoors.

A proud member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Hal served as a deacon and held several church offices over the years. His commitment to his faith was matched only by his devotion to his family. Throughout his life, Howell loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, often sharing these passions with his loved ones. Hal spent his working career in the construction industry, where he ran his own successful construction company for many years. He also owned several other businesses.

In addition to his parents, Hal is preceded in death by a grandchild, Carley Elsberry and nine brothers and sisters.

Hal is survived by his loving wife Burma Elsberry; sons, Greg (Suzanne) Elsberry, Blake (Carolyn) Elsberry; grandchildren, Chasity Winters, Erica Richter, Dana Elsberry, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will all greatly miss him.

In celebration of Hal's life, a visitation will be held at Clark Funeral Home on December 18, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on December 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mike Wheeler and Reverend Don Rackley officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Peaceful Meadows Memorial Garden with Mark Winters, Clint Richter, Caleb Richter, S.J. Kilgore, Chad Hunton, and Stacey Shaw serving as pallbearers. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor Hal's life, sharing stories and memories that reflect the warmth and kindness he extended to all.

As we gather to remember a man who brought so much love and laughter into our lives, we will hold dear the lessons he taught us and the cherished moments we had with him. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
