Irene L. (Gautreau) Downs

Irene Louise Downs passed away on February 2, 2023. She was born on April 3, 1933 to the late Levi and Ella Gautreau in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Irene was the ultimate mother and grandmother. She adored her sweet family and cherished every moment with them.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard Downs; her siblings, Frankie Gautreau, Bobby Gautreau, Eddie Gautreau, Helen English, Evelyn Onchick, Alice Robitaille, Dotty Deflice, and Ruthy Ford. She is survived by her children, William Downs, Theresa Downs, Danny Downs, Joyce Buschmann; ten grandchildren, Tara (Nathan) Gould, Danielle (Steven) Martin, Trevor (Milca Alcocer) Downs, Kristina Bortner, Jessica Chastain, Denise Bortner, Randy Buschmann, Stephanie (Ryan) Buschmann, Brian (Anna) Buschmann, Danny (Heather) Buschmann; nine great-grandchildren, Rylie Guice, Daniel Buschmann, Violet Buschmann, Alex Bortner, Joshua Clements, Ethan Bortner, Jacob Chastain, Hayley Buschmann, Grace Buschmann; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Funeral services for Mrs. Downs will begin at 1:00pm with Dr. Wayne Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made towards the Dementia Society of America.
