Irma Lee Brooks “Nannie” Williams, age 90, of Dallas, GA, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012. She was born October 11, 1921, in Dallas, GA, the only child of the late, Ivy Lee Brooks and the late, Bertha Lee Pierce Brooks. Irma was married to Melvin Sylvester (Joe) Williams who preceded her in death in 1987. One son, M. I. Williams, and one granddaughter, Tammy Williams Hulsey, also preceded her in death. Irma lived in the Crossroads Community for most of her life before moving to Foster Place in her later years. She worked at Lacey Drug Company for over 32 years, and “Miss Irma”, as she was affectionately known, retired at the young age of 82. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons & daughters-in-law, Max & Carol Williams of Dallas, GA, and Roger & Sandy Williams of Kennesaw, GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Joan & Thomas Bennett of Rockmart, GA, and Patricia & Ronnie Tibbitts of Dallas, GA; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Williams of Bremen, GA; adopted son, Ben & Sylvia Flanagan of Acworth, GA; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 3:00 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Brother Loy Frix officiating. Interment will follow in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 3, 2012, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
