Ivan Campbell

Ivan Lewis Campbell, age 80, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was born on October 12, 1943, in Gary, Indiana, the son of the late Edgar Matthew Campbell and the late Virginia Meadows Campbell. Ivan dedicated his life to serving his country, retiring as an E6 First Class Petty Officer in the US Navy and was an accomplished aviation mechanic.

Throughout his life, Ivan found joy in the simple pleasures. He had a deep appreciation for Western movies, often immersing himself in the films of John Wayne. His love for old war movies mirrored his time serving in the military, a period that he held close to his heart. Ivan was passionate about motorcycles, finding solace on the open road.

A family man through and through, Ivan cherished his time spent with his wife Elizabeth, embarking on trips together and creating cherished memories. He loved nothing more than being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, reveling in the joy they brought him.

A true patriot, Ivan's dedication to his country and family will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In addition to being a Vietnam Veteran, he was a recipient of many accommodations and medals. His commitment to serving the nation has left a lasting legacy.

In addition to his parents, Ivan was also preceded in death by his son, Brian Wilbanks, and six brothers.

Ivan is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra Elizabeth Argo Campbell; children: Ivan Campbell, Jr., Armanda Joyce "Mandy" Khan, Matthew Edgar (Shelly) Campbell, Dawn Marie (Simitri) Ruiz, Rodney Phillip Campbell, and Michael (Debbie) Campbell; sister, June Evans; thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A visitation honoring Ivan's life will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm. allowing family and friends to come together and pay their respects to a man whose presence will be deeply missed.

A committal service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 2:30 pm with his grandchildren offering eulogies and the United States Navy providing Military Funeral Honors. Following the committal service, Ivan will be placed to rest in Georgia National Cemetery.
