James "Jimmy" Covington

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Allen Covington, who lovingly went by Jimmy and "Jimbo". He departed this life on March 16, 2025 and was born on July 17, 1961. Jimmy was a cherished father, devoted friend, and an avid outdoor enthusiast.

Jimmy had a profound love for nature, relishing in the joys of hunting and fishing. His spirit thrived in the great outdoors, where he found peace camping. A passionate advocate for bluegrass music, he could often be found enjoying melodies and sharing his love for the music. Additionally, he held an unwavering allegiance to UGA Football, and his love for NASCAR and motorcycles was deeply ingrained in his identity.

Jimmy lived his life with enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit who was the life of the party. His outgoing personality and jovial outlook on life left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Doctor John Covington Sr.

He is survived by his daughters, Taylor Raines and Laura (Joseph) Robinson; grandchildren, Launa Raines and Scarlett Raines; his mother, Glenda Veach Covington; brothers, John (Martha) Covington Jr., David (Pamela) Covington; sisters, Cindy Covington, Diana (Barry) Bickers, Sandra Covington; nieces and nephews, Nicole Covington, Stephanie (Chase) Diamond, and Scott (Dana) Proctor.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

A Private Graveside service will be held at Paulding Memorial Gardens with Doctor John Mark Covington Jr., David Covington, Barry Bickers, and Michael Raines serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Must Ministries in Jimmy's memory.
