James "Jimmy" Wilbanks, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on April 28, 2023. He was born on April 30, 1953, to the late Harold and Betty Jane Gravley. Jimmy was a volunteer firefighter at stations #8 and #3, as well as a volunteer EMT with Clark Ambulance Service. He gave a lot of his time to help the people of Paulding County and truly loved to serve his community. He was extremely caring and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. Jimmy was a faithful member of Freedom Mission Church in Villa Rica and loved his church. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed going fishing and spending time with his family. Jimmy's family meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment. He was very loved and will be dearly missed.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Harold E. Gravley and Betty Jane Gravely. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Denise Wilbanks; his sisters, Angela Henderson, Deborah (Lynus) Sevigny, and Sue Gravley; his mother-in-law, Marie Dennis; his brothers-in-law, Wally Childers, and Shawn Galens; sisters-in-law, Lucy Foster, Becky Sharpnack, Terry (Murl) Holcomb, Caroline (Rick) Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Clark Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services for Jimmy will be held at Clark Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Charles Harbuck and Pastor Steve Weldon officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park, with the Paulding County Fire Department serving as pallbearers.
