Janette Cox Perez, 48, of Dallas, GA passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021. She was born on October 15, 1973, in Dallas, GA. She was a member of Powder Springs Church of God. Most recently, she was a Victims Advocate at the Paulding County Courthouse. Before obtaining her J.D. Law Degree, she went to paralegal school then on to Kennesaw State for a degree in International Affairs. She then attended Loyola New Orleans University Law School, and also earned a Master's Degree from UGA. In addition to her desire to learn, she had a passion for cooking and baking. She rescued many pets. She loved the holidays and spending time with family and her more than 500 friends.
She is survived by her spouse, Alfonzo Perez; step-daughter, Kimberly Perez; parents Larry and Joy Hicks Cox of Dallas; brother, Michael (Shanda) Cox of Dallas; nephew, James Cox of Dallas; aunt and uncle, Debra (Stan) Cox-Krebs of Hiram as well as other aunts and uncles and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Brown, Stan Krebs, and Casey Hampton officiating. Interment will follow at Melrose Cemetery in Villa Rica. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toward her burial expense. Checks should be made payable to Clark Funeral Home.
