Jean Rosen

September 26, 1931 — November 7, 2017

Jean Elizabeth Rosen/Loewen, age 86, of Mount Joy, Pa, passed away on November 7, 2017.  She was born on September 26, 1931, in Mt. Joy Pa. in 1931 and lived with 8 other siblings until the age of 17 years.  Mrs. Rosen moved

to East Hampton, NY and Graduated from East Hampton High School. She married George Benjamin Rosen and lived in East Hampton until retirement when they moved to Monroeton, Pa.,  where they settled on a beautiful 7 acre farm that sat on a fresh water creek called Towanda Creek. Jean was a loving sister, wife, mother of 3, grandmother to 6, great grandmother to 4,  and friend to many and giver to anyone in need. She took many courses to become an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and volunteered for many years on a team for the East Hampton Ambulance Squad with driver and husband George Rosen

Went back to school for 2 years, commuting far, giving up time with family and earned her degree as a talented beautician and was very successful in her own business in Amagansett. NY called Amboutique Hair LTD. Ladies traveled from a far as New York City so Mom could Enhance their Beauty, and always with an open ear and her Beautiful Smile. Still furthering her education, she took courses for many years to be honored as a Methodist Lay Speaker. Jean was always very active in her church and in Missions that took her overseas to the Ukraine multiple times. She taught Sunday school to children for many years at St. Lukes in East Hampton, NY. She was also a True Artist that Loved to garden, sew, knitted hats for chemo patients and donated them to local charities, painted, basket weaved, caned chairs like her father and many forms of woodwork, to name a few. She even tried her hand in local politics. Jean later moved to Dallas Ga in 2007 after husband passed to be with her children.

Survivors include her daughters; Merianne Pellegrino of Cincinnati, OH., Lori (John) Marsten of Powder Springs, GA., her son, G. Todd (Rhonda) Rosen of Dallas, GA.,  her brother, John Loewen of PA., her sisters; Miriam Stumm of PA., Lena Miller of PA., Anna Mae James, of L.I.NY., Julia Kyle of PA., Ruth Westermen of PA., her grandchildren; Nicholas Pellegrino, Katherine Pellegrino, Jessica (Benjamin) Cote, Chelsea Marsten, Benjamin (Amy) Rosen, her great grandchildren; Elliana Rosen, Francesca Cote, Elijah Cote, and Moriah Cote, and numerous nieces and nephews are also survived by her.

A memorial services will be held on July 15, 2018 at 12:30 PM, from Faith Methodist Church, Harrison High School, 4500 Due West Rd, Kennesaw, Ga. 30152,  with Pastor Adam Godbold officiating; July 22, 2018, at 2 PM from Aunt Ruthy's Home, Mt. Joy Community Home Ctr, 106 Bayberry Dr, Mt. Joy, Pa. 17552, with Pastor Craig Loewen officiating. A graveside service will be held on July 24, 2018, from 11 Am until 12 PM, Monroeton Methodist Church Cemetery, 53 Church St, Monroe, PA 18832, Officiated by Pastor Ronald Troupe

As per her wishes, she will be laid to rest with her husband George B Rosen at his side in Monroeton Methodist Cemetery in Monroe, Pa.

Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
