Jerry Wendell Jenkins

Jerry Wendell Jenkins, age 85 passed away at Tranquility of Kennesaw Mountain on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. He was born on August 16, 1935 to his late parents, Oliver and Gertrude Jenkins. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping the most. He was a Baptist by faith and he retired from General Motors After a 30+ year career. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Francis Blair and Brenda Turner; brother, James Jenkins; and first wife, Betty Jenkins and Late wife Oletha Jenkins.

Jerry is survived by his lifelong friend Jo Henry; daughters, Vickie (Kevin) Peaster of Marietta, Tammy (Ed) Brock-Smith of Marietta, Cindy (Gary) Warner of Acworth, and Jaleta (David) Cooper of Dallas; son, Kim (Jan) Akins of Powder Springs; sister, Joyce Clark of Villa Rica; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Jenkins will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Don Rackley officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:00 until 2:00 PM.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who may be unable to attend the service in person due to Covid-19 concerns.
