Jettie Adams Hammond died peacefully on June 1, 2016, surrounded by her family. At 94 years old, she had a long, well lived life. She was born in Polk County, GA. Jettie was predeceased by her parents, all of her brothers & sisters, and was widowed from Riley P. Adams, Sr. and later, from Clarence Hammond. She lived most of her life in Cobb and Douglas counties. In addition to rearing her large family, she retired from Southern Empire Egg Farm after 30 years of employment.
Jettie is survived by her seven children: Riley P. Adams, Jr. of Dallas, GA, Barbara (Lamar) Crabbe of Powder Springs, GA, James (Barbara) Adams of Zolfo Springs, FL, Louise (Jerry) Harris of Stover, MO, Thomas Adams of Decatur, GA, Donald (Linda) Adams of Austell, GA and Douglas (Anita) Adams of Mableton, GA, and by twenty one grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at 2:00 PM, from the Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Terry Marbut officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, GA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, June 4, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Flowers will be graciously accepted or donations may be made to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, 1651 Burnt Hickory Rd
