Jim House, age 83, of Douglasville (Paulding County), GA, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. He was born on November 13, 1934, in Toccoa, GA, to the late Harry & Mamie House, Sr, and was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward House, Walt House, Lewis House and H.B. House; sisters, Sara House-Thompson, Katheryn H. Sanders, and Doris House. Mr. House was a United States Navy Veteran and a member of Bethel West in Wedowee, AL. Jim was the fire chief of the South Paulding area Volunteer Fire Department and was instrumental in initiating the fulltime fire department in Paulding County. He was a member of the New Georgia Ruritan, coached South Paulding Football, and loved fishing with his wife. Mr. House retired from the City of Atlanta after 30 years of service, where he worked in building maintenance.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Annice “Nana” House of Douglasville, GA; sons, David & Michelle House of Fort Payne, AL, and Doug Jackson of Douglasville, GA; daughters, Ann & Martin Smith of Bremen, GA, and Nancy Jackson of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Bruce & Katie Turner, Joshua & Cara House, Jacob & Jessica House, Jesse & Kylee House, Anna-Lecia Jackson, Adam Jackson, Christina Smith, and Paul & Luca Smith; great-grandchildren, Paislee House, Hayden Eller, Jase House, Jake House, Hailey Jackson, Kylan House, Logan House, and Benjamin House; many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Mr. Jim House and his beloved wife, Annice “Nana” House, who passed away on December 11, 2018, will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at 2 PM, from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Preacher David House, Mr. Adam Jackson and Reverend Johnny Foster officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 16, 2018, from 12 PM until 2 PM.
