JoAnn Stanley, age 90, of Dallas, Georgia formerly of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on July 16, 2024. JoAnn was born on July 31, 1933, in Birmingham, Alabama the daughter of the late Ira L. and Ruth Washburn Allums. A dedicated professional, JoAnn excelled in her role as an administrator in the insurance industry, working with Continental Insurance throughout her career. Her commitment to her work and her unwavering dedication to her family serve as testaments to her strong character and exceptional qualities.
JoAnn was a beloved member of her family and community. She dedicated her life to her loved ones and her faith as a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she found solace and strength as a devoted follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack William Stanley; son, David "Barry" Stanley; daughter-in-law, Kathy L. Stanley; grandson, Jon Barry Stanley; and her brothers: AB Allums, Kenneth Allums, Harold Allums, and Bob Allums.
JoAnn is survived by her children: Jack (Elaine) Stanley, and Dana (Kenny) Mann; daughter-in-law, Glenda Stanley Michio; sister, Eulala Merritt; brothers James (Janet) Allums and Ronnie (Linda) Allums; her grandchildren: Jack Lee Stanley, Kayla Mann (Chris) Lyons, Derek (Amanda) Mann, Morgan Mann, Lauren Stanley, Blake (Megg) Stanley, and Colton Stanley and numerous great grandchildren-each carrying a piece of her wise and loving spirit.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 12:30 pm until the service hour. The Memorial Service to celebrate JoAnn's life will begin at 2:00 pm in Sam Clark Chapel with Dr. J. Marcus Merritt officiating.
