Joe Tom Westbrook, age 78, of Hiram, GA, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012. The son of the late, Joe D. & Sarah Thelma Westbrook, he was born in Dallas, GA, March 2, 1934 and was preceded in death by, a sister, Marcelle McClure and sister-in-law, Milre K. Westbrook. Mr. Westbrook started ABC Awning in 1955 in Hiram, GA, and he was a very successful businessman in trading, bartering, and selling. He was an avid Nascar fan and a charter member of Macland Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Westbrook; son & daughter-in-law, Tommy & Angie Westbrook of Powder Springs, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Melinda & Lloyd Paris of Powder Springs, GA; step-son, Michael Dion Smith & wife, Kelly of Acworth, GA; brother, Van Westbrook of Rockmart, GA; sister, Viola Heimanson of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Shane Westbrook, Tiffany Paris Davis (Pope), Tara "Tadpole" Westbrook Kaplan (Justin), and Trent Lloyd Paris; step-grandchild, Brandon Smith; great-grandchildren, Seth Kaplan and Aiden Kaplan; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 26, 2012, at 3:00 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, Reverend Don Rackley and Reverend George Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. James Osbourne, Bobby Cole, Don Shipp, Mike Vickery, Tim Abad, Dan Paris, Carlos Jones and David Brumbelow will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
