John Wesley Harp, Jr

John Wesley Harp, Jr., age 79, of Acworth, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. He was born in Columbus, GA, on March 30, 1929, to the late John Wesley Harp, Sr. & the late Mattie Frank Odom Harp. Mr. Harp was a member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Bobbie Jean Harp of Acworth; sons & daughter-in-law, Randy Harp of Columbia, SC, Jim Harp of Acworth, Barry & Daphne Harp of Acworth and Walt Harp of Acworth; sister, Nadine Harp Johns of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2008, at 11:00am, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Kenneth McDaniel and Reverend Mike Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery. Roy Hanson, Richard Kilgore, Doug Tate, Scott Byers, Derek Warren, and Dwayne Edde will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
