John Ragsdale

John D. Ragsdale, age 88, of Hiram, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011. He was born on January 8, 1922, in Hiram, to the late Clinton S.R. and Florene Ragsdale, and was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Myrtle Ragsdale, and son, Johnny Ragsdale. Mr. Ragsdale was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the United States Navy Marines.

Survivors include, sons and daughter-in-law, Larry & Joan Ragsdale of Dallas, and Terry Ragsdale of Hiram; brother, C.W. “Buddy” Ragsdale or Hiram; sister, Carolyn Garmon of Hiram; grandchildren, Jeff Ragsdale of Dallas, Shannon & Beth Ragsdale of Dallas, and Will & Deborah Ragsdale of Longwood, FL.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at 2 p.m., from Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don Rackley officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 3, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
