Johnny Calvin “J.C.” Butler, age 85, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on December 28,
2020 at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.
Mr. Butler was born in Greenwood County, South Carolina to the late Robert Sr. and Maude H.
Butler on August 16, 1935. He worked as a pressman and lead operator for Mead
Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia until his retirement following 37 years of service. He was
a member of First Pentecostal Church in Villa Rica, Georgia.
Mr. Butler was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy Louise Butler;
brothers, Robert Butler Jr., Allen Butler, and Dan Odell Butler; sisters, Helen Butler, Elise
Butler-Wooten, and Marie B. Butler; and his grandson, Richard “Shaun” Butler.
Mr. Butler is survived by his sons, Steve (Ramona) Butler of Dallas, Georgia, Lonnie
(Anna) Butler of Cantonment, Florida, Ricky (Linda) Butler of Dallas, Georgia, and Gary
Butler of Dallas, Georgia; brothers, Raymond Butler, Pete Butler, Franky Butler, Eddie
Butler, Freddie Butler, and Donnie Butler; sisters, Kay “Lucy” Butler-Harris, Brenda
Butler-Long, and Donna Butler-Vaughn; grandchildren, Lonnie (Shannon) Butler,
Christina (BJ) Bailey, Tammy (Tony) Gaston, Kevin Butler, Michael (Hilary) Butler, and
Josh Butler; and his great-grandchildren, Braxton Butler, Isabella Butler, Dana Bailey,
Cameron Bozarth, Kyle Austin, Bentley Bailey, and Sophie Gaston.
Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Melrose Hills
Memorial Park in Villa Rica, Georgia with Pastor Eddie Allen of First Pentecostal Church
officiating.
