Reverend Johnny Louis Woodward, Sr., age 83, of Dallas, GA, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010. The son of the late, Robert Harrison Woodward and the late, Lola Daisy Smith Woodward, he was born March 9, 1927, in Cartersville, GA. Reverend Woodward was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a Mason for 50 years, first joining the Kennesaw Lodge #33 and later moved to the Dallas Lodge #182. Reverend Woodward served as pastor of Banks Chapel Baptist Church, Crossroads Baptist Church, High Shoals Baptist Church, Cochran Ridge Baptist Church, Mount Tabor Baptist Church, Stoners Chapel Baptist Church, Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Beulahland Baptist Church and Hills Park Baptist Church, where he was a member. He was the owner of Eastside Printing since 1960.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Myrtle K. Woodward; sons & daughter-in-law, Johnny L. Woodward, Jr. of Powder Springs, David L. Woodward of Dallas and Richard H. & Terri Woodward of Powder Springs; brother & sister-in-law, Hubert A. & Betty Woodward of Cartersville; grandchildren, Natalie Woodward, Reverend Johnathan Woodward, Jordan Trey Snow, Olivia Woodward and Hannah Woodward; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 23, 2010, at 11:00 AM, from the First Baptist Church of Dallas, with Reverend Johnathan Woodward, Reverend Mike Woods and Reverend Donnie Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Powder Springs. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home, Wednesday, December 22, 2010, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
