Joseph Steven McGullian

January 23, 1989 — June 2, 2023

Joseph Steven McGullian passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 2, 2023. He was born on January 23, 1989, in Atlanta, GA to his loving parents William McGullian III and Shannon Gantt. Joseph graduated from Paulding County High School and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for Landscape. He was currently working in the landscape field with Lawn Decor, but he was a jack of all trades and could just about do anything. Joseph was the life of the party, everyone liked him, especially the girls, and he was always trying to make people laugh and smile. He also loved being the center of attention, anytime there was a camera around, he would smile, pose, and say "Take my picture." Joseph took great pride in his appearance and wanted to always put his best foot forward. When he was younger, he played baseball, football, and raced motorcycles, which began his love of going fast. He was always wide open and full throttle in everything he did, whether it was driving, partying, or loving his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Joseph believed everyone was equal and even went as far as defending people when they were being bullied or discriminated against. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports, especially the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and the Atlanta Hawks, and spending time with his family, especially his brother and niece, and his new puppy, Dakota. Joseph was a one-of-a-kind person who will be missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know and love him.

Joseph is preceded in death by his grandmother, Rene McGullian, and his favorite great-grandmother, Nana Ethel Chafin.

He is survived by his mother, Shannon Gantt and step-father, Jack Gantt; father, William McGullian III, brother, Michael McGullian and his girlfriend Lindsey Hunt; brother, Wyatt McGullian; stepsisters, Jena (Blake) Owen and Emily (Matthew) Cantrell; grandparents, Linda Chafin, Joe Chafin, William McGullian II; Aunts, Patti McGullian and Andrea (Rodney) Morris, nieces, Mya McGullian and Aspyn Hunt, cousin, Casey Morris, Taylor McGullian, Meghan Smith, Trinty McGullian, Patricia McGullian, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Clark Funeral Home. A service for Joseph will be held Sunday, June 11, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the Clark Funeral Home chapel. Joseph will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help cover the cost to lay Joseph to rest.
