Joyce Bishop

December 3, 1934 — January 11, 2020

Joyce Bishop, 85, of Marietta, GA passed away on January 11, 2020 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital.  She was born on December 3, 1934 in Glen Springs, SC.  She was a loving and giving person who was very outgoing, and she loved being outdoors. She attended Powder Springs Baptist Church and worked as a nurse for Wellstar Cobb Hospital for 22 years.

She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She loved being a nurse and caring for others, and she loved her family immensely. She enjoyed family gatherings and a good margarita, especially while watching live music and watching her dear friend’s bands. During her lifetime she had the opportunity to travel the world with her best friend and see many places. She loved a frosty from Wendy’s, chocolate, chatting on the phone with friends for hours, and she never met a stranger. SHE JUST LOVED!

She is survived by her daughter, Terri Bishop Martin of Marietta, GA; son Michael (JoAnne) Bishop of Dallas; and a brother Ted Brown (Brenda)of SC; grandchildren: Christopher (Kayla) Martin, Dallas Martin, and Ashlynn Bishop; and two great-grandchildren Cameron Martin and Cooper Martin; many nieces and nephews. Her sister in laws Brenda Rodgers and Patsy Brown of SC.

Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her husband Walter Erwin Bishop; her mother, Irene Brown; her brothers Barry Jesse Brown and William Dallas Brown.
