Joyce Bishop Ridley, age 70, of Powder Springs, passed away on Saturday, March 07, 2009. She was born on September 5, 1938, in Marietta, to the late Robert & Essie Bishop. She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Ransom Tipton. Mrs. Ridley retired from Lockheed with 45 years of service and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church
Survivors include her son, Gary Ridley of Washington, DC; daughters, Cathy Robinson of Powder Springs, and Faith Tipton Smith of Waleska, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lamar & Emily Bishop of Marietta, Murl & Jane Bishop of Powder Springs, and Earl Bishop of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren, Brandon Robinson of Powder Springs, Jennifer Robinson of Powder Springs, Melissa Tipton of Waleska, GA and Emily Smith of Waleska, GA; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at 2 p.m., from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Reverend Quin Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
