Joyce Smith

Joyce McGarity Smith, age 70, of Marietta, GA, passed away on December 17, 2016 at Elmcroft Assisted Living. She was born February 14, 1946 in Atlanta, GA to her late parents; Marrell and Lois McGarity.  Mrs. Smith worked for the city of Hiram as a City Administrator for 36 years.  She was a member of Popular Springs Baptist Church. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and friend.

Mrs. Smith was survived by her loving children; Alan L. Rakestraw, Austell, GA, Rick and Connie Ellis, Smyrna, GA, Stuart Smith of Douglasville, GA, Ryan Smith of Canon, GA. Grandchildren; Laura Rakestraw and Amber Rakestraw both of Dallas, GA.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Smith will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 1996 at 11:00 AM at Clark Funeral Home with Rev. George Barret and Rev. Donald Voyles officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Paulding Memorial Cemetery. The family and friends will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 19, 1996 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM
