Judith Welch Hardy, age 84, Dallas, GA, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014. The daughter of the late, Wendell & Ruby Denton Welch, she was born December 14, 1929 in Dallas, GA. She and her husband, Dean, owned and operated the Judean Drive-In and the Dallas Theatre. Mrs. Hardy earned a degree in Home Economics from the University of Georgia. She taught at McEachern High School, Jefferson High School and 3rd Grade at Dallas Elementary, and had been a Social Worker, before selling real estate with Paulding Realty. She was a caring mother and was very involved in community affairs, helping numerous citizens in her community. Mrs. Hardy was a member of the Dallas First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Dean P. Hardy; sons & daughters-in-law, Wendell & Rene’ Hardy of Powder Springs, GA, Kenneth M. & Angela Hardy of Dallas, GA, and Sidney W. & Dana Hardy of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Kevin (Stacey) Hardy, Reid Hardy, Anna Hardy, Daniel Hardy and Steven Hardy; and great-grandchildren, Will Hardy and Caroline Hardy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at 2:00 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Todd Tibbitts, Reverend Steve Schofield and Mr. Ken Vinson officiating. Interment will follow in Dallas Memory Gardens, with Kevin Hardy, Reid Hardy, Steven Hardy, Daniel Hardy, David Welch, Will Hardy and Bill Watson, III serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
