Julian D. Walraven, age 76, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015. Mr. Walraven was born on July 4, 1938, to the late Lee Roy Walraven & Laura McMichen Walraven. Mr. Walraven was the youngest of ten children. He served in the Navy, and was retired from Lockheed Martin, after 37 ½ years as a tooling planner. Mr. Walraven was an avid fisherman and Nascar fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an active member at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member of the choir and served in the Celebrate Recovery Ministry.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Diana Mitchell Walraven; children, Dondra Walraven Miller of Hiram, GA, Jana Walraven Hooper & husband, Francois of Dallas, GA, Richard DeWayne Walraven & wife, Michelle of Dallas, GA; brother, Robert Lamar Walraven & wife, Faye of Yorkville, GA; sisters, Estelle Walraven Ferguson of Powder Springs, GA, Catherine Walraven Lester of Acworth, GA, Judy Walraven Payne & husband, H. B. of Acworth, GA; grandchildren, Catherine Miller, Sarah Miller, Reese Hooper, Joey Walraven, Josh Walraven, Tyler Murphy, Jyllian Walraven, Alayna Walraven; numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Walraven will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015, at 11:00 AM, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Reverend Rodney Carson & Reverend Butch Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday, February 12, 2015, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
