Kathryn Anderson

Kathryn W Anderson, 87, passed away peacefully in her home on October 11, 2023, following her battle with Kidney disease. She was born on March 8, 1936, in Buchanan, Georgia to the late Gus and Eula Mae Wood.

Kathryn accomplished many things throughout her life both professionally and personally. She built her professional career in sales with Eastman Kodak and retired after 25 years of service. Then she went on to work as a District Manager for Clean Control and in the Floral Department for SAM's club in Marietta, Hiram, and Douglasville until they closed the Floral Design Department. In addition to her successful career, she was also an active member of the American Business Woman's Association, Sandy Plains Chapter. Also, she served on the Atlanta Area Council as Chairwoman for the American Woman's Business Association in Georgia. She also attended and helped with the American Woman's Business Association Conventions when needed. Kathryn attended New Georgia Baptist church in Villa Rica, GA, until her health prevented her from attending. She loved her church family, and hearing about God's love and his teachings. Even with all her professional accomplishments, she was most proud of her family. She loved spending time with them and watching each of them grow and prosper. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who had the opportunity to love her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, Clem Andrews, brother; Charles S Wood, and a sister; Irene Wood Marlow.

Kathryn is survived by her daughter; Deborah Cogburn and her husband Lee; son, Steve Anderson, and his fiancé Julie Plumley, grandchildren; Kathryn (Jacob) Sauls, Sabrina (Brett) Shepherd, Anthony Anderson, Shannon Anderson, and her fiancé' Chris Hughes, Tim Anderson, great-grandchildren; Logan Sauls, Brody Shepherd, Dylan Anderson, Olivia Szurminski, Alexis Szurminski, Victoria Anderson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM and Monday, October 16, 2023, from 12:00 PM -2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held for Kathryn at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM with Dr. James Burdette officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
