Kelly Chandler, age 50, of Gainesville, GA, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014. He was born on February 16, 1964, in Marietta, GA, and was the son of Grady Chandler and Janice Horton. Mr. Chandler was employed at Lanier Flight Center as a CFI, Certified Flight Instructor and was a member of Browns Bridge Community Church in Cumming, GA. He was a Fifth Degree Black Belt, Certified Scuba Diver, Certified Sky Diver, enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing, always loved adventure. Kelly was a positive influence on everyone he touched in his life! He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include wife, Jacquelyn Rogers Chandler of Gainesville, GA; children, Mandy Rogers of Atlanta, GA, Matt Rogers of Dallas, GA, and Stacey Barnette of Gainesville, GA; father and step-mother, Grady & Diane Chandler of Acworth, GA; mother and step-father, Janice & Paul Horton of Cumming, GA; sister, Missy & Jim Stewart and their children, Drew, Chandler, and Davis of Alpharetta, GA; step-brothers, Paul Horton, Mark Horton, Pat Horton, Gary & Zandra Horton, and John Davis; grandchildren, Zach Rogers and Angelina Coffey; grandmother, Ruby Roberts of Dallas, GA; mother and father-in-law, Georgia & Chalmers Mayfield of Douglasville, GA; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014, at 3:00 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Lloyd Latham, Derek Metro, James Weatherford, Troy Wheeler, Chandler Robinson and Lynnda Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery. Troy Wheeler, Paul Kyst, Chuck Padgett, Derek Metro, Dave Wardlaw, Jon Owens, David Gazda, and Brian Bera will serve as pallbearers and Christian Kyst and James Weatherford will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 14, 2014, from 12:00 PM until the service time.
