LaGroon W. Redmond, beloved mother and grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on October 28, 2021. She entered this world on February 17, 1933 in College Park, Georgia, born to William and Sunbeam Kelley. LaGroon was an avid historian, taking special interest in Paulding County history. She was a member of the Historical Society and was an accomplished author, publishing several historical books. LaGroon was a beautiful soul with a bright smile, and her memory will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
LaGroon is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert C. "Bob" Redmond; and parents, William Kelley, and Sunbeam and Bernard Weakland. She is survived by sons, Robert (Joy) Redmond, Raymond (Joann) Redmond; daughter, Rebecca S. Redmond; grandchildren, William F. "Bill" Browning III, Benjamin Michael Redmond, Steven W. Redmond, Donald A. Redmond, Kelley A. Collins, Catherine Nellans, and Virginia Nellans; as well as 4 great grandchildren, Angelica McFarlin, Mollie Redmond, Lilah Redmond, and Lochlan Collins.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Flint Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4072 Hiram Sudie Road, Hiram, GA 30141, at 1:00pm. The family will receive friends Monday, November 1, 2021 at Clark Funeral Home, 4373 Atlanta Highway, Hiram, GA 30141, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
