Larry Chastain, age 58, of Dallas, GA passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2007. He was born on September 30, 1948 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late E.G. and Lillian Chastain of Mableton, Georgia. He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War in which he was a two Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in New Georgia. He was preceded in death by his sister Elaine Chastain of Mableton, Georgia.
Surviving are his wife, Kaye Chastain of Dallas, Georgia; his daughters and son-in-law, Jaime and Brad Rakestraw of Rockmart, Georgia and Kelly Chastain of Dallas, Georgia; his sons, Jeff Brown of Dallas, Georgia and Nicholas Brown of Dallas, Georgia; his brothers and sister-in-laws, Ronald and Pat Chastain of Macon, Georgia and Gene and Diane Chastain of Douglasville, Georgia; his brother-in-law and spouse, J.P. and Frederica Denton of Douglasville, Georgia; his sisters and brother-in-laws, Linda and Wendell O'Shields of Woodstock, Georgia and Debra Chastain of Mableton, Georgia; his sister-in-laws and spouse, Virginia Lee of Hiram, Georgia, Patricia Spence of Florida and Martha and Rader Gurley of Dallas, Georgia; grandchild, Ashten Rakestraw of Rockmart, Georgia and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia. The interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
